Although I have chosen to limit my practice to divorce and family law, and have carefully chosen and trained my staff for a family law practice, the areas encompassed by family law, and the depth of knowledge required, remains substantial. In one day we may deal with a serious real estate issue, matters of finance & banking, employment compensation, a retirement plan, trying to figure out what a person’s actual income is for child support, dealing with a school or medical provider about a child’s records, to interviewing a psychologist about the nuances of a court-ordered examination.

The information can be daunting when it’s new and you’re facing a family crisis. I have tried to help by identifying a few specific areas of family law that people frequently ask about and providing some basic information about each area.
